Former AL lawmaker Saleha Mosharraf dies

Former Awami League lawmaker (reserved seat) of ninth parliament Saleha Mosharraf has died at a Faridpur hospital.

She had been suffering from prolonged illness originated from cancer. She was 66.

Saleha Mosharraf was also an elected lawmaker in the 7th parliament (Faridpur 4) for some time following the death of her husband Advocate Mosharraf Hossain, a valiant organizer of liberation war and lawmaker of that constituency since 1970.

Advocate Mosharraf died in 1999 and after his death Saleha Mosharraf was elected in the by-election.

Saleha Mosharraf's body was brought to her Jhiltuly residence of the town where people from all walks of life thronged there to pay their last tribute, BSS reported.

Her body has been sent to Charbhadrasan upazilla where the first janaza will be held. Then it will be taken to Sadarpur upazila for second janaza and will be returned back to Faridpur town where the third janaza will be held at Alipur square.
