Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday said that those celebrate the National Mourning Day are the successors of the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Terming Begum Zia's merriment on the National Mourning Day as "indecent celebration", the Minister said, "Khaleda celebrates the day in a different way by cutting cake in the name of birthday celebration, as she could not celebrate the day openly as a successor of the murderers of 75'."
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on the National Mourning Day and the 39th death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at VIP Projection Hall of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) organized by BFDC.
Inu, also the President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), said, "Those celebrate the day, are the successors of Mustak-Zia group, the killers of Bangabandhu and the devil spirits of the defeated forces of 1971. Our country, Constitution, culture and tradition are still in stake as long as they will be in this country."
"Our independence and future generation are not safe as long as Begum Zia will be united with Jamaat and communal forces under the scurf of democracy and not propose condemnation on killing Bangabandhu," he added.
Inu called upon all to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by building "Golden Bangladesh" and turning the grief of the great loss of Father of the Nation into strength.
Information Secretary Mortuza Ahmed said, "Killing of Bangabandhu was not a simple murder as the killers tried to turn back the wheel of the country. They could not kill the ideal of Bangabandhu and his idealism will be in the hearts of people."
Actress and former lawmaker Sarah Begum Kabori, film actor Akbar Hossain Khan Pathan (Faruk) and film director Kazi Hayat also spoke in the discussion with BFDC Managing Director SM Harun-ur-Rashid in the chair.
