A Dhaka court yesterday granted bail to detained BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a murder case filed with Shahbagh police station last year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session’s Judge Md Jahurul Haque passed the order upon a bail petition filed by Fakhrul.
However, the same court denied bail plea of him in another such type of case filed with Ramna police station the same year.
On March 27, a CMM court sent Fakhrul to jail in the aforesaid cases as he surrendered before it after ending the eight-week High Court bail.
November 28 last year, three passengers of a bus succumbed to their injuries as pickets threw petrol bombs at it near Shishu Park. A case was filed with Shahbagh police station, accusing Fakhrul in the case.
