The upazila unit of BNP has called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Saturday and Sunday in Bajitpur upazila in Kishoreganj, protesting vote rigging and demanding re-election in the upazila.
Bajitpur upazila BNP unit Chairman and former MP Alhaj Mojibur Rahman Monju declared the hartal in a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
He claimed that Awami League members had taken possession of some 20 polling centers and rigged voting on Wednesday.
Teachers' leader Professor Tofazzel Hossain, Professor Indrajit Das and Vice Chairman Candidate Md Jillur Rahman were, among others, present in the press conference.
