The High Court granted BNP standing committee member Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain six-week anticipatory bail in a money laundering case on Monday.
The bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the verdict in the Ramna police case of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
On Thursday, the anti-graft watchdog lodged a case against senior BNP leader Mosharraf Hossain accusing him of siphoning off about Tk8 lakh to the United Kingdom.
Khandakar Mosharraf said to have siphoned off the money during his office as the minister for health and family welfare during 2001-06 BNP rule.
His lawyer Saqued Mahbub endorsed the grant of six-week anticipatory bail from High Court in this case.
