Fakhrul: People’s movement to oust govt

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the government would be ousted through people’s movement.

The BNP leader made the statement after paying homage to Ziaur Rahman’s grave on Saturday morning.

“The Awami League government is trying to reinstate ‘Bakshal’. But it will be compelled to give election under a non-partisan caretaker government,” said Fakhrul.

He said the Awami League does not believe in democracy.

“It had killed democracy through the January 5 election,” Fakhrul added.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Khandakar Mahbub Hossain said: “The ruling government is illegal.”
