The BNP has deplored that the ministers’ provocative and unguarded remarks are blocking the path towards political understanding, reports UNB.
BNP International Affairs Secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon made the statement during a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan offices on Saturday afternoon.
“The ministers of the new regime are making such disparaging and provocative remarks which, we think, are creating obstacles to the path of dialogue and compromise,” Ripon said.
He also criticised the ministers for what he said was making indecent remarks about their opponents.
The BNP leader hoped that senior national leaders will maintain decency in delivering speeches and making comments about their rivals.
“We are criticising the government and will continue to do so in the future as we have that democratic right,” he said.
Describing the current regime as being fascist, he said the government acknowledges the importance of political parties but they will not be allowed to raise their voice.
“They want such an opposition party which will not oppose them and will remain under their control,” claimed Ripon.
