BNP Vice-Chairman Khoka denied bail

A Dhaka court yesterday rejected bail prayer of BNP Vice-Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka in four cases filed with Ramna, Mohammadpur and Shahbagh police stations.

Metropolitan Session Judge Md Jahurul Haque passed the order after hearing the petitions.

Defence Counsel Md Sanaullah Miah said they would appeal in the High Court against the order.

Earlier, a Metropolitan Magistrate court rejected bail petitions of Khoka in the cases.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested the former Dhaka City Corporation mayor from a residence in the capital’s Uttara area on December 4.

On November 12 last year, police filed a case against 26 opposition activists, including Khoka, for an arson attack on a human haulier.
