Liberal Democratic Party President Col (retd) Oli Ahmed has said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would brief media about the overall political situation soon.
“The BNP chief will present the overall political situation and future course of action of the 18-party alliance before the nation,” said OLi Ahmed.
The BNP leader told this to reporters after attending a meeting of the 18-party alliance leader with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The meeting analysed the January 5 election in detail, he said.
The meeting started at 8:50pm and ended at 11pm at Khaleda’s Gulshan office.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leader Redwanullah Sahedi, BJP Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partha, LDP President Oli Ahmed and other leaders of 18-party allaince attended the meeting.
The BNP, who is no longer an opposition in the parliament, has backtracked from agitation programmes – hartals and blockades – for the time being.
The alliance has been staging demonstration programmes demanding polls under the non-party government.
The alliance boycotted the January 5 polls that were held under the all parties’ government.
The 18-party termed the polls and formation of new government as illegal and unconstitutional.
