Khaleda no longer Leader of the Opposition

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is no longer the Leader of the Opposition in the parliament.

The Parliament Secretariat published a gazette notification confirming Rawshan Ershad as the Leader of the Opposition in the 10th parliament.

The gazette was published on Saturday, speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury told the Dhaka Tribune.

The 10th general elections were held on January 5 amid the boycott of the then main opposition BNP.

283 MPs, who were elected in the 10th, took oath on Thursday morning. The new cabinet would be sworn in on Sunday.

Khaleda became the Leader of the Opposition of the House in 1996 and 2008.
