BCL urges govt to arrest Khaleda Zia

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League, on Tuesday, urged the government to arrest BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for countywide atrocities in recent days.

While addressing a rally at Dhaka University’s Oparajeya Bangla in protest at the recent atrocities, BCL president H M Badiuzzaman Sohag said, “The government should arrest the BNP chief as she is leading movements with the criminals who committed crimes against humanity in 1971.

Sohag also said,” Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal and Shibir activists are conducting attacks on commoners everywhere.”

BCL DU unit President Mehadi Hasan Molla thanked the Prime Minister for holding the 10th Parliamentary elections in free and fair way.

He said, “The Prime Minister has proven again that free and fair elections are possible under an Awami-League government.”

Among others, BCL Joint Secretary Shamsul Kabir Rahat, Abdur Rahman Jibon, DU unit General Secretary Omar Sharif and Vice President Adittaya Nandi also addressed the rally.

They protested the countrywide killings, attacks on minorities, and the destruction of educational institutions and government properties in the name of democracy.

BCL members also brought out a procession from Madhur Canteen which marched along different streets of the university campus.
