BNP man falls victim to his 'prey'

A local BNP activist was injured when a truck ran over him during an attempt of vandalism in Dupchatia upazila, Bogra on Thursday night.

The incident took place during a nationwide blockade of the BNP-led 18-party alliance. The agitation programme will run until January 5 national polls.

A group of pickets tried to engage in vandalism on the Bogra-Naogaon highway around 9:45pm, police said.

BNP activist Rustam Ali was run over when the truck he tried to vandalise ran over him, Dupchatia police Officer-in-Charge Riazuddin Ahmed said.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital, he said. The extent of his injuries could not be known.
