Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, has announced that it will observe a countrywide demonstration on Tuesday and a prayer programme on Wednesday to protest the “killing” of one of its activists in the capital.
Shibir Secretary General Mohammad Abdul Jabbar announced the two-day long programme with a statement signed by its Central Press Secretary Abu Saleh Yahya, on Monday.
According to the statement, they would observe the programmes to protest against the “killing” of their leader Md Mansur Ahmed Padhani.
They also urged the government and the law enforcers not to hinder their “democratic programme” by extending security support.
Mansur was killed at the Malibagh Chowdhurypara area of the capital during the “March for Democracy” programme on Sunday.
