Khaleda: Dhaka March a festival not violence

BNP chairperson made the statement at a program on the occasion of Christmas Day at her Gulshan office on Wednesday night.

“Your Jesus Christ came to earth for establish peace just as our prophet,” she told the Christian community leaders, adding: “This year’s Christmas had become gloomy due to lack of peace in the country.”

She also said that her party was enforcing agitations to bring peace.

The three-time former prime minister also branded the government as a total failure and completely detached from people, Khaleda added.

The BNP leader warned that the situation would get worse if we are not allowed to hold the rally on December 29 in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital.

Please do not try to bar our program, she urged the government, raising question: “Why can’t we hold our programs in front of our central office if they (Awami League) can?”

Ruling Awami League activists are torching vehicles and putting blames on the opposition, she alleged, adding: “False cases are being filed against the leaders and activists of the opposition alliance.”
