The ruling Awami League-led 14-party alliance will hold a rally in the capital today against the censure motion in Pakistan parliament on execution of war criminal Abdul Quader Molla and “destructive activities” of the opposition BNP-Jamaat.

The rally will be held in front of the Awami League headquarters on Bangabandhu Avenue at 3pm.

The alliance targets huge gathering in the meeting, said Coordinator of Dhaka City 14-party Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya.

Also general secretary of Dhaka City Awami League, Maya told reporters that they had called the programme to encourage the party activists ahead of the January 5 polls.

Yesterday, the programme organisers sat in a joint meeting with the alliance leaders from Dhaka, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Narsingdi and Manikganj districts.
