The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday morning returned four Bangladeshi women through the Bhomra border at the Satkhira sadar upazila.
Following their return, officers of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed them over to the Satkhira sadar police. The women were allegedly trafficked to India, sources claimed.
Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge at the police station said: “Human traffickers lured them with job offers in India and sent them off without passports.”
Upon arriving, members at BSF’s Ghojadanga camp detained them and returned them to the Bhomra BGB camp.
The returnees were, Laiju Khatun, 32, of Pirojpur, Mahfuza Khatun, 28, and Runa Akhter, 32 of Narayanganj and Shahnaz Akhter from Savar, Dhaka.
All four were sent to jail through court.
