BNP terms PM’s offer inconsistent

The BNP has termed the prime minister’s conditional offer on dissolving the 10th parliament as ‘inconsistent’ and ‘nothing but a show.’

BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan made the statement at a press conference at the party’s Gulshan office on Saturday afternoon.

He also condemned the government, alleging it had barred all possibilities of holding a dialogue, which the BNP wanted.

Criticising the army deployment during elections, he said it was unnecessary to deploy the army for elections, of which the result of most of the constituencies have already been known.

He urged the government not to go against the people.

The BNP leader said all their programmes and movements are aimed towards a free, fair and credible election for the tenth parliament.

He added that they were not at all inclined to discuss the 11th parliamentary elections at this moment.
