At least three people were killed and 41 other were injured in separate incidents of violence in Satkhira and Comilla districts over the execution of convicted war criminal Abdul Quader Molla.
In Satkhira, a local Awami League leader and a Jubo League activist were stabbed to death allegedly by Jamaat-Shibir men in Kolaroa upazila on Thursday midnight and early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Azizur Rahman Aju, 53, former president of Awami League Kolaroa municipality ward no 6 unit and Joj Miah, a Jubo League activist of Saraskati village.
Shah Dara Khan, officer-in-charge of Kolaroa Police Station confirmed the matter.
In Comilla: A Shibir activist was killed and 41 other, including three police personnel, were injured in between Jamaat-Shibir members with police after the Supreme Court cleared the way for executing war criminal Abdul Quader Molla around 7pm on Thursday.
The deceased is Shibir activist Anwar Hossain, 20, dead.
Police brought the situation under control after two hours by firing shotguns and teargas shells.
