The 18-party alliance has called in a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Bogra for Sunday, protesting the Anti-Corruption Commission filing an appeal against the High Court verdict on the money laundering case.
District BNP President, and also coordinator of the alliance, Saiful Islam Saiful declared the programme after holding a Gayebana Janaza on Alatafunnesa playground, Friday afternoon.
The hartal will be enforced from 6pm, Sunday.
Earlier on November 17, a Dhaka court acquitted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s elder son Tarique Rahman and sentenced his friend and business partner Giasuddin Al Mamun to seven years’ imprisonment in a money laundering case involving Tk204.1m.
