Ruhul Amin: JP holding talks with Govt

Jatiya Party Secretary General Ruhul Amin Howlader said on Friday that the process of the resignation submission of the party’s ministers was in progress as they were discussing the issue with the government.

He said “We are holding talks with the government and we are trying to reach at a point regarding the resignation issue”.

“As, we were the part of the polls-time government, we should leave the cabinet in a disciplined manner,” he added.

Replying to a query as to whether all seven JP members who joined the polls-time government would resign, he said “We have talked to Anisul Islam Mahmud and Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu. They will resign from the cabinet.”

Furthermore, he said: “Now I am leaving for Rowshan Ershad’s house to hold final talk in this regard.”

The politician said they were working together to overcome this period of crises.

The ministers who submitted resignations are GM Quader, commerce minister, ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, civil aviation and tourism minister, Mujibul Haq Chunnu, state minister for youth and sports, and Salma Islam, state minister for women and children affairs.
