Jatiya Party Chiarman Hussein Muhammad Ershad threatened of withdrawing from the upcoming elections if a “healthy” polls-atmosphere is not ensured.
“We are prepared for partipation, but we will withdraw if a healthy atmosphere is not ensured,” he said while speaking to the media Friday morning.
It does not matter who is the head of the polls-time cabinet, he said pointing to main opposition BNP. “What matters is the people's love.”
He reiterated his calls to the main opposition to participate in the 10th national elections which is expected be held on January 5.
“You (BNP) have won the elections multiple times before. Even this time you have the opportunity,” the former military ruler said.
Ershad was speaking during a meeting with nomination candidates at a convention centre in the capital's Gulshan 1 area.
