Fakhrul: Govt agents behind hartal violence

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir blamed government agents for the killing of people with acts of sabotage during the hartals, reports UNB.

“People of the country know who are setting fire to buses. Opposition has no link with any such acts of sabotage,” he claimed.

We condemn the killing of people in such heinous acts, the BNP leader said.

Accusing the government of constantly confusing people in the name of talks, he said they are ready to sit with the ruling party anytime, anywhere to break the political standoff.

“I would like to say with our party chairperson’s approval that we do want a dialogue but it has to be on non-party caretaker government. We’re ready to sit with you [Awami League] anywhere, but don’t confuse people over it,” he said.

Fakhrul came up with the call at a discussion arranged by BNP at the National Press Club, marking the 37th death anniversary of great leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani.
