Jubo Dal central leader held in Chittagong

A central leader of Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the BNP, was detained in the port city of Chittagong Wednesday morning.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) 7 held Abul Hossain Bakkar, central vice president and ex-president of the city unit Jubo Dal from Enayetbazar around 9:15am.

Rab 7 deputy director Assistant Superintendent Sugyan Chakma said Bakkar was involved in plots to sabotage.

He will be handed over to Kotwali police after a preliminary interrogation, Chakma added.

The detention was made during the nationwide 84-hour hartal of the BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance.
