JCD leader killed in Jessore

Police recovered the body of a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader from a water body on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Enamul Haque Biplob, 25, joint secretary of JCD’s Abhaynagar upazila unit. He was the son of Torab Ali of Hospital Road in the district.

Kazi Abdus Saleque, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar police station said: “On information from the locals, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from a water body at Borni.”

Enamul was stabbed to death by miscreants, he said.

Kazi Abdus said the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.

FM Alauddin, former organising secretary of BNP’s Abhaynagar upazila unit and Selim Reza, and ex- vice president of Noapara College Students’ Council, told the Dhaka Tribune that the deceased was a leader of the JCD.

The body was sent to Jessore Medical College Hospital for post mortem examination.
