The main opposition BNP has decided to hold its much hyped October 25 rally near the party's Nayapaltan headquarters, spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced on Wednesday.
"We seek the government's cooperation in letting us carry out tomorrow's rally," Fakhrul said at a press briefing held in the afternoon at BNP Chairperson's Gulshan office.
However, Dhaka metropolitan police were yet to grant BNP the permission to hold the October 25 rally.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police imposed a ban on rally throughout capital for indefinite time from Sunday.
Earlier on October 10, BNP suggested three places, including Nayapaltan, and wrote an application seeking permission to hold the rally.
The rally is expected to roll out future programmes of the party.
Mirza Fakhrul requested police to lift the restriction measures.
