Khairul Islam Sajib, son of Narayanganj-3 BNP MP Azharul Islam Mannan and senior joint convener of Narayanganj district Jubo Dal, has been released on bond after being questioned by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

He was released on Monday morning.

DMP Additional Commissioner (Detective) Md Shafiqul Islam told reporters that several allegations had been raised against Sajib, and he was questioned regarding those matters.

“After questioning, he was released on bond in the custody of a relative,” he said.

Police on Sunday detained Khairul Islam Sajib, senior joint convener of Narayanganj district Jubo Dal and son of BNP leader Azharul Islam Mannan, MP of Narayanganj-3 (Sonargaon–Siddhirganj).

The information was confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Tarek Al Mehdi.

Sajib was picked up from his residence in the Bashundhara residential area of the capital with the assistance of the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
