BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday expressed confidence that the newly formed central committee of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal would strengthen the organisation nationwide and contribute significantly to the country’s welfare.
He made the remarks after paying tribute at the graves of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia at Zia Udyan in the capital. The visit marked the first official programme of the newly announced full central committee of the BNP’s youth wing.
Mirza Fakhrul said BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had approved the full committee and expressed hope that it would reinvigorate the organisation and further consolidate its presence across the country.
“The newly formed committee will help build Jubo Dal into a stronger and more dynamic organisation capable of playing an effective role in national development and public welfare,” he said.
Fakhrul said the Jubo Dal leaders visited the graves of party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to pay their respects.
"We prayed that Almighty Allah grants this committee the strength, courage and wisdom to build Jubo Dal into a strong organisation across the country and to work for the welfare of the nation," he said.
He noted that empowering young people remains a key priority, as Bangladesh’s future progress depends largely on the energy, talent and leadership of its youth.
“We are confident that the new committee will fulfil the responsibilities entrusted to it and help advance the organisation’s goals,” he added.
Fakhrul further said that under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, the new Jubo Dal leadership would move forward with renewed commitment and play a constructive role in promoting national development and public welfare.
Following the tribute, a special prayer was offered for the eternal peace of Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia.
Among those present were Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna, General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan and other senior leaders of the organisation.
