Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would soon make it clear how the country will be run after October 25.
“The sky will not fall on Bangladesh after October 25. There is the government, the constitution and democracy in the country. The country will be run as per the constitution. The Prime Minister will soon inform the nation about this,” he said.
The minister was addressing a function at Paduar Bazar marking the inauguration of five bridges on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at different points in Comilla.
Obaidul also asked the country’s people not to be worried about what will happen after October 25.
As per the constitution, the national election will have to be held before January 25 when the tenure of the government will expire.
Meanwhile, opposition parties have threatened to wage tougher anti-government movements after October 25 to press their demand for the restoration of the caretaker government to oversee the election.
The minister said he does not consider alike the opposition’s politics of speeches and that of streets.
He also said they would face the opposition’s programmes politically after October 25.
