Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-2 constituency Barrister Rumeen Farhana has highlighted the challenges facing the world amid ongoing international conflicts, citing the tension between Iran and Israel-U.S. as a pressing concern.
She expressed hope that the situation would be resolved swiftly.
Speaking at an Iftar event organized for the citizens of Ashuganj Upazila at the Tarua Girls’ High School grounds in her constituency, Rumeen Farhana said, “The world is heading towards a grave and sorrowful outcome. The entire globe may witness a third world war. From that point, I hope countries will remain calm and work towards a healthy resolution.”
Replying to questions from journalists, she emphasized the importance of free and fair local government elections. “The main concern is that the elections are conducted fairly, allowing the general public to participate spontaneously and cast their votes freely, in an environment that encourages voters to come to the polling stations,” she said, adding that elections should be credible regardless of whether they are held under party symbols or not.
The Iftar event was presided over by Tofazzal Hossain Saimolla, senior vice president of Tarua Union BNP.
