Shafiqur: Jamaat to ensure dignified job opportunities for youths

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that Jamaat-e-Islami will ensure dignified employment opportunities for the country’s youth.

“This election is not merely about a change of power; it is an election to change the direction of the nation. It is an election to fulfill the aspirations of the July revolution and to build a safe Bangladesh for our mothers and sisters”, the Jamaat leader came up with the statement while speaking at a rally at Baharchchara Bir Muktijoddha Ground in Cox’s Bazar Sadar on Monday.

In his speech, Dr. Shafikur Rahman said, “We do not believe in the ideology that the king’s son must be a king. Whoever it may be in this country—an MP, a minister, or even the prime minister—if they commit a crime, we want to ensure they are brought to justice.”

He said, “Cox’s Bazar is a region with immense potential. If its natural and economic resources are properly utilized, the area can be developed into one of the country’s major growth hubs. To achieve this, justice and fairness is essential in leadership.”

Calling for a “Yes” vote, the Jamaat Ameer said, “On 12th February, we ourselves will cast ‘Yes’ votes and encourage the people of the country to vote ‘Yes.’ If votes are cast for the scales symbol, Cox’s Bazar will be illuminated.”

At the programme, he introduced the party’s candidates for each seat to the public and addressed the youth, saying, “Get yourselves ready. This Bangladesh is being built for you.”

Earlier, speaking at a public rally in Maheshkhali, he said the party was not seeking power for itself but for the people.
“We do not seek victory for Jamaat-e-Islami; rather, we seek the victory of the country’s 180 million people. If the 180 million people achieve victory, that will be the true victory, and I will be a part of that victory as well, Insha’Allah,” he said.
