Doctor says Hadi’s condition remains critical

The condition of Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi remains critical and unchanged, a doctor at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said on Sunday.

Neurosurgeon Dr Md Abdul Ahad said Hadi’s condition remains extremely critical. He underwent another CT scan in the morning, which showed extensive brain damage.

He added that although Hadi’s kidneys had stopped functioning at one stage, kidney function later returned. The bullet also pierced the temporal region of the brain.

Dr Abdul Ahad said Hadi was shot at close range by someone with expertise. The bullet damaged vital blood vessels in the brain. Although most of the bullet fragments were removed during surgery, some splinters remain lodged in the brain.

He also said there was oxygen deprivation in the brain and the presence of blood clots.

He added that Hadi’s lungs remain unchanged and he is currently on life support.

According to the doctor, Hadi is under close observation. The family is exploring treatment options, including taking him abroad. A medical board will assess the situation, after which a final decision will be made. Relevant medical documents for possible overseas treatment have already been sent.
