The government is ready to provide any support required for BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s security, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters after a core committee meeting on law and order at the Secretariat, the adviser said there was no discussion during the meeting regarding Tarique Rahman’s return.
Asked if the Home Ministry had made preparations for Tarique Rahman’s security, he said: “We are ready for everyone. The Home Ministry is prepared for all, and for those who require special security… whatever arrangements are necessary, we are ready to provide them.”
He added that no one in Bangladesh currently faces any security threat.
