Khaleda to address Rajshahi crowd

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is set to address a public rally in Rajshahi on Monday afternoon in a bid to mount public support for a non-partisan caretaker government.

Khaleda arrived in Rajshahi Circuit House at 3:20pm. She will reach the rally venue at 4pm.

This will be her second public meeting in the northern region of the country in two days.

She is expected to head for Dhaka after the rally.

On Sunday, she addressed a Rangpur crowd, calling upon the people “to stop an orchestrated election” under Awami League’s governance.

She said her party would only sit for talks after the government passed a bill to ensure a non-partisan government during elections.

On September 8 Khaleda spoke to a Narsinghdi crowd, warning them of non-stop shutdowns if the government did not bow to BNP’s demand for a caretaker government.

The opposition chief is expected to hold rallies in Khulna on September 22, in Barisal on September 29 and in Sylhet on October 5.
