A rally is underway at Manik Mia Avenue to mark the launch of the new political party, Jatiya Nagorik Party, which is leading the mass uprising.
Leaders and activists from various units of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagorik Committee have joined the event.
Additionally, people from different professions and backgrounds have gathered, expressing their hope for change in politics through this new party.
Faisal Ahmed, a student of Jagannath University, who attended the rally, said: "A political party should be formed that is inclusive and free from discrimination. People from universities, madrasas, job sectors, and labor fields should be part of it. I hope they will lead the fight against corruption and extortion and build a better nation."
Nishan Rahman, who came from Uttara to support the new political party, said: "I am here to support those who led the July Revolution and gave us the message of an equal Bangladesh. They have proven themselves, and I believe they will introduce a new political approach."
Khairul Islam traveled from Chittagong to join the rally. He said: "I arrived last night from Chittagong to be part of this historic moment. We brought down the dictatorship under their leadership, and now we will build a new Bangladesh with them."
Saiful Islam, a businessman from Mohammadpur, expressed his frustration with traditional politics. "Since independence, we have seen the same kind of politics. We are tired of extortion, looting, and violence. This new political party will bring change, take steps to rebuild the country, and ensure our rights as citizens. That is our hope," he said.
