CPB to skip all-party dialogue on July Uprising Proclamation

The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) will not attend the all-party dialogue called by the Chief Adviser regarding the proclamation of the July uprising. The party conveyed this decision to the Chief Adviser's office on Thursday.

CPB General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince said that it would not be feasible for the party to attend the dialogue due to insufficient time for necessary preparations.

Ruhin Hossain Prince said: “In light of the overall situation, it is not possible for the CPB to participate in the meeting scheduled for Thursday.”

He added: "At 1:29pm on January 16, 2025, we received a text message without a name, instructing us to send a representative to a meeting at the Foreign Service Academy at 4pm tomorrow (Friday), to review the draft proclamation. The proclamation was also attached. We later learned that the meeting would not be tomorrow but rather at 4pm today (Thursday)."

CPB leader Ruhin Hossain Prince also said: "We informed the inviter in the text message that it is not feasible to complete such important tasks in such a short time, as we need to consult with our party, our coalition, the Left Democratic Alliance, and other democratic political parties, organizations, and individuals involved in the anti-autocratic and anti-fascist movement."

He added that, considering the circumstances, it would not be possible for the CPB to attend the meeting on Thursday.
