Tarique: Reform proposals must reach people

BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman stated that the 31-point reform proposals, part of the party’s vision to rebuild the nation, should be communicated to everyone rather than being limited to party members.

If anyone has objections or suggestions, amendments or additions can be made to the proposals.

Party members must work to maintain the public’s trust in BNP.

He made these remarks on Sunday while virtually joining a workers' meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP in Khilkhet, Dhaka.

Tarique Rahman stressed that BNP must ensure public support remains in its favour, in a positive way, by any means.

He further said that the party must be guided by the will of the people.

He said: "Just as the five fingers of a hand are not the same, people are also not identical. Since August 5, over the past four months, some party leaders and activists have been confused and are spreading confusion. As a result, many of their actions are not being appreciated by the general public."

He urged BNP leaders and activists to focus on gaining people’s support, trust, and confidence.

"If your goal is something else, you will be sidelined within a few days, losing public support and drifting away from their trust," he warned.

He concluded by calling on everyone to work tirelessly to retain the public’s trust, respect, and love, saying: "We must dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to maintaining the people's confidence, belief, and affection."
