Central leaders of the Ganatantra Mancha have said that instability is being deliberately spread in the country, and communal provocation is being created.
They strongly condemned and protested the murder of young lawyer Saiful Islam in Chittagong, following the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Brahmachari.
On Wednesday, at a press conference held at the central office of the Nagorik Oikya on Topkhana Road in the capital, the platform's leaders expressed these concerns.
They mentioned that attempts to create communal tension around this incident were underway.
They also pointed out that efforts to label Bangladesh as a terrorist state globally, using these incidents, are continuing.
They urged the people of the country not to get involved in any communal provocation.
The leaders expressed anger, saying that the Indian government and certain sections of their media have intensified their anti-Bangladesh activities after the people's uprising.
They called upon the citizens of the country to confront the situation with patience, tolerance, and a spirit of unity.
During the press conference, the leaders said that the government could not avoid responsibility for the ongoing instability in the country.
They emphasized that the current crisis could not be solved only through administrative measures but must also be addressed politically.
They urged the government to come forward to gain the trust of political parties and the people.
They also mentioned that many efforts were underway to make the interim government ineffective, with the involvement of fallen fascist forces and various negative circles.
Given these considerations, they called on the government to declare a roadmap for Bangladesh's democratic recovery with wisdom and foresight.
The central leaders also said that the incitement and violent activities against media outlets such as Prothom Alo and Daily Star are part of efforts to silence free and independent journalism.
They asserted that no democratic state can tolerate an attack on the media.
