DU Chhatra Dal president: We want to avoid disruptive politics in universities

Dhaka University uni Chhatra Dal President Ganesh Chandra Roy has said that Chhatra Dal does not engage in politics that disrupts the academic environment but rather works while upholding the sentiments of general students.

He made these remarks during a brief assembly ahead of a sit-in protest at the Anti-Terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture at 2pm on Sunday.

Earlier, Chhatra Dal organized a protest rally from the Central Shaheed Minar around 1:30pm, demanding justice and protesting the harassment of Law Adviser Asif Nazrul in Geneva, Switzerland, among other demands.

The rally circled the entire campus and concluded in front of the Raju Memorial Sculpture.

Ganesh Chandra Roy said: "We want to tell the general students that Chhatra Dal is empowered by its own strength and makes decisions ensuring the overall academic environment. Do not be misled; together, we will move Bangladesh forward."

Calling for the trial of Sheikh Hasina, the DU Chhatra Dal President added: "A red notice must be issued promptly to bring back the fugitive Hasina and ensure she faces trial."

DU Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon also spoke on the occasion.
