Adviser Asif inspects kitchen market amid price hike

Amid rising commodity prices causing distress for ordinary people, the government has undertaken measures to stabilize the market, with Labour, Employment, Youth, and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan conducting a market inspection on Saturday.

In a post on his verified Facebook account, Asif Mahmud shared updates from his visit, where he was seen inspecting prices while wearing a mask and cap, without any security entourage.

Following the visit, he reported noticeable price drops, saying: "Egg prices have fallen from Tk60 to Tk48 per half dozen, bottle gourd from Tk100 to Tk40-50 per piece, and green chili from Tk300 to Tk140-150 per kilogram."

The adviser said that vegetable prices are relatively under control, though slight price variations exist depending on location and specific markets.

He also said that prices are expected to decrease further with the arrival of winter vegetables.

Mahmud assured that the government continues working to stabilize the prices of other essential items.

His post was met with a positive response from netizens, including a comment from Ali Arman, who praised the adviser's direct involvement in market inspections, calling it “commendable work” and expressing hope that he continues to fulfill his duties effectively.
