Jamaat's Hindu unit committee formed in Rangpur

A committee of the Hindu unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has been formed in Pirgacha Upazila of Rangpur.

Mirzapur Degree College's Assistant Professor Bhavesh Chandra Barman has been appointed as the president, while businessman Bijan Chandra Das has taken the role of general secretary.

The committee was announced during a discussion and consultation meeting held on Friday night at the local Jamaat office with members of the Hindu community.

The announcement was made by Abdur Jabbar, the Ameer of the local Jamaat unit. 

The committee also includes Tapas Chandra Roy, a demonstrator at Devi Chowdhurani Degree College, as vice president, while Kismat Jhinia serves as co-secretary.

Sudharanjan Barman has been named president of the Sanatan Sangha, and Probhash Chandra Barman, an assistant teacher at Deuti School and College, has been appointed as treasurer.

The discussion and consultation meeting was conducted by Hafiz Idris Ali, the organizational secretary of the union Jamaat. The chief guest of the event was Maulana Enamul Haque, the secretary of Rangpur district Jamaat.

Other notable attendees included Maulana Mostak Ahmed, Amir of the local Jamaat, Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, Office Secretary Zakir Hossain, and Bhavesh Chandra Barman, president of the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council of the upazila, along with Hossain Ahmed, the financial secretary of the union Jamaat.
