Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Thursday said the morale of the country’s democracy-loving people, including the BNP, is still strong despite the government's attempt to seize the people's rights in the recent election.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were freed from Keraniganj Central jail around 3:30pm on bail after nearly three and a half months of their arrest.
Both of them spoke to reporters separately.
Amir Khasru Mahmud was freed from jail after 105 days, and Mirza Fakhrul Islam was freed after 109 days.
Aamir Khasru said in response to the questions of the journalists about receiving proposals from the government before the elections: "They can tell about their proposals. I don't know anything about any proposal.”
“The most important point is that they held the election taking away people’s rights..They have been morally defeated by the country’s people,” he added.
