GM Quader not worried over recent split in JaPa

Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader on Saturday said that he is not concerned about the party splitting.

“At this moment, I do not see the possibility of the party splitting. Anyone can form another ten parties with the name and ideals of Hussain Muhammad Ershad,” he made these remarks at a reception organized at his office in Banani on Saturday.

The JaPa chairman said: “JaPa’s perception among people is not good. We should be aligned and working towards the same goals. Failure to do so will result in the party losing support from the people. We must acknowledge and correct any mistakes or weaknesses within ourselves.

"It is partially true that the JaPa has been controlled by other parties. We are trying to get out of this situation. There is a significant need for reform within our party. If we can not do this, not only will the party break apart in the future, but it will have no existence. People will not love the party, and there will be no trust in the party,” he also added.

The opposition leader of the parliament said: "Listening to the speeches of the ministers of the ruling party, it feels like we are going back to the medieval system. Maybe the general public does not notice this. Law minister said the other day that it would take another 50 years for the Sagar-Runi murder case. I see this as a medieval system. In that era, everything was controlled through physical power."

He added: "If the justice system is delayed, it means justice will not be served. If this justice is delayed for another 50 years, then it becomes a denial of justice. Are we going to gift our country with a state of judicial neglect?"
