The ruling Awami League (AL) is set to hold peace rallies carrying national flags on Tuesday.
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that Awami League will hold Peace, Democracy and Development rallies in all metropolitan cities, districts, and sub-districts of the country.
He announced the program at a rally organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League in front of the party's central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Saturday.
Quader said: “Awami League leaders and workers will participate in the rally with flags in hand.”
Meanwhile, the BNP announced a black flag march program across Bangladesh on Tuesday demanding the cancellation of “illegal dummy parliament” and reelection under a non-partisan neutral caretaker government.
BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy made the announcement at a brief rally outside the party office in Naya Paltan before initiating the black flag march on Saturday.
