Awami League Joint General Secretary and candidate for Dhaka-8 AFM Bahauddin Nasim has criticized the BNP and Jamaat for creating obstacles to economic development through their “criminal” activities.
Nasim was speaking at a views-exchange meeting in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
He said the BNP and Jamaat are anti-liberation forces and do not want a non-communal Bangladesh. “They do not want the country's people to prosper economically. They have no concern for the working-class people of the country.”
“They burn people in the name of hartals and blockades. Burning people can never be a movement to ensure the rights of people in the country.”
The Awami League leader continued: “They want to destroy the educational environment by spreading terror in classrooms. Therefore, they are creating unrest in the education sector.
“Our goal is to elevate Bangladesh to a prestigious position on the global map. Nobody can impede our progress,” he added.
Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh was also present at the meeting.
