Nanak: BNP loses its political identity

Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Saturday said that the BNP has lost its political identity.

BNP-Jamaat is following the footsteps of the Purba Banglar Sarbahara Party which carried out secret killings in Bangladesh during the post-independence period, he said, adding that BNP is creating obstacles in the election process while the polls will be held in a festive mood.

“BNP is conducting such acts as it has lost its political identity," he said.

Nanak, also an Awami League-backed candidate for the Dhaka-13 constituency, told reporters during the election campaign on behalf of the boat (Awami League electoral symbol) for the 12th parliamentary elections in the city's Agargaon, Taltala and Shamoli areas.

Noting that a festive mood is being created among the mass people centring the upcoming national election slated for January 7, 2024, he said when people are in a joyous mood, such a time BNP-Jamaat want to kill the country's democracy by standing on the way of the election process and endangering the country's sovereignty and independence.
