The ruling Awami League will hold an election rally in the capital on January 1 ahead of the 12th national parliamentary polls, scheduled for January 7.
Party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the rally at the Physical Training Centre ground in Mohammadpur at 3pm.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak, candidate of the party’s Dhaka-13 seat and the party’s presidium member, confirmed the information on Friday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina started the official election campaign of Awami League from Sylhet on Wednesday.
The party’s president addressed election rallies in Panchagarh, Lalmonirhat, Natore, Pabna and Khagrachari districts on Thursday. She joined the rallies virtually from the Dhaka District Awami League office in Tejgaon of the capital.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will virtually join the election rally in six other districts.
The districts are- Kushtia, Jhenaidah and Satkhira districts of Khulna division, Barguna district of Barisal division, Netrakona district of Mymensingh division and Rangamati district of Chittagong division.
Awami League office has informed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the election rally in Barisal district headquarters on December 29 and rallies at Gopalganj-3 and Madaripur-3 seats on December 30.
