Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said BNP is a terrorist party and it is on the verge of extinction.
“BNP is a terrorist organization; it is not a political party. There is no need to take them seriously, and the people of the country no longer do. The primary tasks of the BNP are torching cars and destroying people's property. Like many old parties, it would eventually die,” he said.
The Awami League leader said these while talking to newsmen after attending a views-exchange meeting at Kushtia Shilpakala Academy on Friday morning.
In response to a query on the BNP's claim that the current Election Commission is inept, Hanif said the EC made the right decision in announcing the election schedule.
"National elections must be held in accordance with the constitution. Is there another way of electing public representatives other than elections? The people's representative is the basis of the government. Elections are therefore required. BNP leader Tarique Rahman has no political experience whatsoever. Using his mother's influence, his primary tasks were theft, corruption, and murder," Hanif added.
Kushtia Awami League Joint General Secretary Adv Sheikh Hasan Mehedi, Organizing Secretary Mazharul Alam Sumon, and Amjad Hossain Raju were present on the occasion, among others.
