Rizvi: Gazipur train derailment planned sabotage

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed grief and concern over the Mohanganj Express train derailment in Gazipur early Wednesday, claiming it an act of sabotage.

He said this to reporters in a statement sent to the media on Wednesday morning.

In the statement, Rizvi said: “The derailment of seven coaches of the train at Bhawal railway station is undoubtedly an act of sabotage. Those who have committed such inhumane events are enemies of humanity. I pray for the forgiveness of the departed soul of the deceased and the recovery of the injured.”

He said: “A couple of media outlets are indicating that the derailment of the train is being blamed on the parties agitating for democracy, which is deeply conspiratorial.”

A man was killed as the Dhaka-bound Mohanganj Express derailed at Bankharia (Chilai river) bridge of Gazipur on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway early Wednesday.
