Leaders of the 14-party alliance will meet on Sunday night to discuss the sharing of seats in the general election slated for January 7.
The meeting is scheduled for 8pm at an MP Hostel in the parliament area, Amir Hossain Amu, Awami League Advisory Council member and 14-party alliance coordinator, said.
Shirin Akhtar, general secretary of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSoD), which is a member of the alliance, also confirmed the matter.
There are eight lawmakers from partner parties of the alliance led by the ruling Awami League in the current parliament.
Earlier, on December 4, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with top leaders of the 14-party alliance partners at Ganabhaban, from 6pm to 10:15pm.
Although the meeting decided to contest the election collectively, there was no agreement on seat sharing. A committee headed by Amir Hossain Amu, spokesman and coordinator of the alliance, was formed to look into the matter.
The next day, there was a meeting at Amu's residence, led by Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon and JaSoD President Hasanul Haque Inu, where they presented their arguments in favour of seat sharing.
