National polls: BNP leader expelled for buying nomination form

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled Dewan Nazim Uddin Manju, president of the Dhamrai Municipality unit of BNP after he bought a nomination form for the upcoming 12th national polls.

The party informed this through a press statement, signed by its Co-Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain, on Friday.

According to the circular, Manju has been expelled from all positions, including primary membership of the party, based on specific allegations of involvement in activities against party discipline.

Naziur Rahman Manju said that he has recently collected nomination papers in order to run as an independent candidate. He believes that this is the reason the party's top leaders fired him from all of his positions.
